Adidas 3D RunnerApparel
The future of footwear may just have arrived in the all-black everything Adidas 3D Runner. Created using a 3D printer, Adidas have been experimenting with the production method for a while. This is their first effort to hit the market. The sneaks have a 3D printed heel counter joined to the midsole and Primekit upper. Their 3D structure has been cleverly engineered so it’s denser in the high-stress areas to ensure peak performance. Others will follow but the brand with three stripes is owning the 3D footwear landscape with this release, which wouldn’t look out of place in Bladerunner. There is huge potential for the future too with personalization options including embroidering your own name within the tooling and matching your own footprint and exact feet sizes to the 3D structures.
